  • WTF??? I understood none of that! ~ If this is what you are exclaiming then lemme give you the rundown.

Let's go through it in order.

The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is essentially the brain of the computer. It interprets and executes instructions and data contained in software programs. The more generic term "processor" is often used to refer to a CPU as well, and the more specific term "microprocessor", meaning CPUs that are manufactured on integrated circuits, is also widely used nowadays. These three words mean exactly the same thing in this article, and elsewhere in most cases. As the brain of a computer, the processor (or CPU) plays a defining role in the total PC system. The performance of a PC system is roughly determined by the processor, so choosing the right processor is key when building your own computer. The other components, such as RAM and hard disk drive, also play important roles, while the video card is crucial when it comes to 3D graphics performance. So needless to say this is one of the most essential items you will need for your computer if you are getting into digital art or graphic design. I also chose one that would be good for gaming.

A video card (also called a display card, graphics card, graphics board, display adapter or graphics adapter) is an expansion card which generates a feed of output images to a display (your monitor). Most video cards offer various functions such as accelerated rendering of 3D scenes and 2D graphics, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 decoding, TV output, or the ability to connect multiple monitors (multi-monitor). This is also essential, because (herpa-derp) I'M USING A COMPUTER TO CREATE GRAPHIC IMAGES!

Hard drives are important for the computer because they store all of your programs files and operating systems (yes, you can have more than one!) I chose two, essentailly the same but of varying capacity. One will be used for my business the other personal. They will run independently using two different operating systems, but I will be able to run them at the same time. This is really just one of those choices you can do without, but I went ahead and went with it because I do run a business and it is a lot safer to keep my work and personal files separated.
The items below each hard drive are fans that keep the hard drive at a stable temperature.

Overheating is purported to be a common cause of drive failure. Overheating can cause the platters to expand. If the disk's read-and-write head comes in contact with the disk's surface, a catastrophic head crash can result.
Each drive has a specified lower and upper bounded operating temperature.
With the other cooling options I have selected this shouldn't be too much of a problem I have added it more as a safe-guard than anything else.

So what is the price of all these fancy dancy items for the computer?

    $2717.00 Including shipping and handling!
Now you might be like "Are you fucking nuts? That's a shit load of money."
Why no I am not, how dare you disrespect me anonymous viewer conjured up by my imagination!
I agree this is a lot of money and I need to complete the project i'm working on to have the rest of the money in order to order this fantastic workstation, but it is an investment that will pay itself of in a couple of months.
If we compare this price to the previous computer:
I am getting a processor equal to theirs, a little less great video card (but it supports 2 monitors)
2 hard drives with cooling fans, 2 dvd player/burners, 2 monitors of damn good quality, and all the other amenities for  $1978 less. I consider that a success.

I hope you found this helpful or entertaining and like always I encourage you to leave a comment. Go ahead and tell me what you think. If you have any advice for me or just wanna say "ERMAGEHRD LOLZ" go right ahead the comments are below.
